Research Interest

Questions regarding carotenoid-based colortaion in animal species, especially in birds and reptiles. This includes the mechanisms of producing red ketocarotenoids in birds and the function of carotenoids initiated signals across a varitey of species.

I'm currently the PhD student in Dr.Geoffrey Hill's lab. I'm now focusing on the study of the possible correlation between carotenoids-based coloration and hepatic mitochondria in songbird species, especially the mechanisms of red ketocarotenoids production in House finches.(Haemorhous mexicanus).
